Medical transcription basically means making a
written copy of the oral or dictated medical records
electronically. The doctor or the healthcare
provider dictates the medical record, which includes
the details of the patient’s visit, examination,
procedures done during the visit, laboratory
results, diagnosis, prescription, and treatment
plans.
The Medical Language Specialist (MLS) should be
making a good and accurate written copy of the
doctor’s dictation, which should be returned back to
the healthcare provider promptly in the stipulated
Turnaround
time (TAT).
